Temporary changes to bus services for road closures

Temporary changes or road closure information that may affect your journey by bus will be listed below when details are available. This information is supplied in good faith and is accurate at the time of publishing. Passengers should be aware that changes in road closure schedules can affect the start and length of works and checks should be made with the bus operator before travelling.

Peaslake Road, Peaslake

Due to emergency gas main repair works by SGN, Peaslake Road, Peaslake (at the junction with Pitch Hill) will be closed from 10am on Monday 22 April for up to two weeks. During this time the Compass 25 service will be on diversion between Silent Pool and Cranleigh, and will be unable to serve the villages of Gomshall, Shere and Peaslake. The Compass 25 will instead operate via Chilworth, Wonersh and Shamley Green between Silent Pool and Cranleigh.

M25 weekend closure - Junctions 9 and 10

Due to works by National Highways to the A3 Wisley Interchange, the M25 will be closed in both directions between Junctions 9 and 10 from 21:00 on Friday 10 May until 06:00 on Monday 13 May.

Although no local bus routes are directly impacted by these works, and travellers are being advised to avoid the Surrey stretch of the M25 where possible, we expect that the closure will lead to an increase in traffic congestion in the area. As a result local bus services may be affected, and passengers should bear this in mind when travelling.

Additional information can be found on the National Highways webpage for the works.

Wimbledon Road, Camberley

Due to carriageway resurfacing works, Wimbledon Road in Camberley is closed for three days from 24 April.

Stagecoach service 1 will divert from Berkshire Road and turn right down Wimbledon Road, left onto Kingston Road, left onto Bracknell Road and then right onto Mitcham Road to return to the normal line of route. It will not serve bus stops at Wimbledon Close, Wimbledon Road and Bracknell Road.

National Highways works on A3 near RHS Gardens Wisley (Bus services 462/463 and 715)

Due to the demolition of Wisley and Cockcrow footbridges which cross the A3, the bus stops on the A3 at Wisley will be permanently closed and the bus stop on the Portsmouth Road at Ockham Roundabout will be temporarily closed from the last bus on Friday 23 February 2024.

Until the new Wisley bridge is in place there will be no safe walking route to RHS Wisley or across the A3 from the A3 or Portsmouth Road bus stops.

To facilitate transport to RHS Gardens Wisley, Wisley Common and Ockham Bites the National Highways are providing a free shuttle service from Ripley High Street. Passengers for Wisley should alight buses 462/463 or 715 in Ripley High Street and a free shuttle service will be taking passengers to RHS Gardens Wisley, Wisley Common and Ockham Bites. This will be operated by Woking Community Transport and depart from The Talbot in Ripley High Street. This service is provided by National Highways who can be contacted by telephone on 07870 0705198.

A3 Portsmouth Road Closures

National Highways are carrying out major safety improvement works to the A3 Wisley Interchange (M25 Junction 10). As a result there will be a series of weekend road closures at this location.

This page will be updated as and when new closures are announced.

Whilst closures are in place, the Falcon 715 service will only operate between Kingston and Cobham. The White Bus 462/463 service will not operate between Send Marsh Road and Ockham Roundabout, so bus stops in Ripley will not be served.

We would advise passengers wishing to travel on these services to also check the Falcon and White Bus websites for further updates.

More information about these works, including diversion maps, can be found on the National Highways webpage.

Ash Railway Station

Due to local development works the southbound bus stop at Ash Railway Station is closed until further notice. The nearest alternative bus stops are those named "Chester Road" and "St. Peter's Church", located approximately 200m along the road in either direction from the suspended bus stop.

Stagecoach service 23/123/113

Due to road closures in Bordon on Lindford Road and on Caker Lane/Green Street in East Worldham, Stagecoach have been diverting services 23/123/113.

From 1 April 2024, Lindford Road will be reopened, and service 23 will return to normal, but the services for Alton College will still be following a diversion due to the continued closure of Caker Lane/Green Street, and will run to a new temporary timetable.

From 5 May 2024, to coincide with the reopening of the B3004 between Bordon and Alton for college exam season, services 113 and 123 will revert to their pre-roadworks route and timetable and they will once again serve Kingsley and East Worldham, no longer diverting via Greatham and Selborne.

It is likely that after the the end of term the works will start again and in September 2024 the services will be back on diversion.

The works are expected to end in October 2024.

Please contact Stagecoach for any further updates.
